The Grand Canyon

One of my very best friends from Oklahoma, her husband, my boyfriend and I camped at the Grand Canyon this past weekend.

We had so much fun, but I was disappointed that my friend and her husband didn't get to see the canyon on a day with brighter sunlight, fewer clouds and better visibility.

Oh well, I guess this just means they'll just have to come visit Arizona again!

This elk was one of many we saw near our campsite. Isn't he beautiful?

Was there a Mrs. Elk? And did you happen to see any squirrels? ;-)

There were several Mrs. Elks, in fact. And no, I saw no squirrels. But aren't baby squirrels cute? ;-)

Um...I beg to differ...I believe you DID see a squirrel--right before the boyfriend mowed it down. I, however, did not see the squirrel. Because I was asleep. Dreaming of baby bears.

But I refuse to think of it as a squirrel, see, because if I close my eyes, I can still remember the exact way it looked up at me as if to say, "Help? Please!" just before said boyfriend, as you so eloquently put it, did in fact, "mow" down said squirrel-like creature.

Mmm ... baby bears ... so cute ...
